UAE based SweBis Middle East FZ-LLC (SweBis), the JV between Australian company Bisalloy Steels and Sweden\u2019s Swebor, will be exhibiting at the upcoming IDEX 2021 defence expo to be held in Abu Dhabi. SweBis, established in 2017, distributes high-performance armour steel products to the Middle Eastern civilian and defence armour markets. <\/p>\n
The JV is successfully taking advantage of the high concentration of armoured vehicle manufacturers in the region, being able to offer customers the whole package \u2013 not just steel plate, but also solutions in areas like blast and ballistic protection, material selection, and workshop recommendation (welding, bending, etc.). This includes a full range of grades and sizes including Swebor\u2019s specialised thin plates and Bisalloy\u2019s wider and thicker plates.<\/p>\n
Bisalloy originally developed its BISALLOY\u00ae Armour steel grades in the 1980s for use in Australia\u2019s specialised defence applications. Since then, Bisalloy\u2019s BISALLOY\u00ae Armour range has expanded to include products ranging from 250 HBW to 600 HBW for both ballistic and blast mitigation applications. <\/p>\n
Swebor\u2019s history is similarly impressive. Established not long after Bisalloy in 1982, the Swedish company is a pioneer in abrasion-resistant steel products. It now produces 20,000 tonnes of steel a year, including armour grade products for defence and civilian applications including specialised products over 600 HBW.<\/p>\n
Despite their geographical differences, Swebor and Bisalloy have married perfectly as SweBis, with the joint venture company now solidified in the UAE and wider market as a key supplier.<\/p>\n
Billed as the most strategically important tri-service defence exhibition in the world, the five-day IDEX event at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, represents an excellent opportunity for the SweBis team to meet with customers, end-users, and global defence prime contractors. <\/p>\n
